Moon not sighted, Sallah moved to Thursday in Nigeria

The Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) through its leader, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has announced that the Ramadan fast would continue on Wednesday as no moon was sighted in the country on Tuesday.

In a statement released on Tuesday evening, the Sultan declared that Thursday, May 13 will now be the first day of Shawwal 1442AH and the beginning of 2021 Eid-al-Fitri celebration in the country.

Abubakar urged the Muslim Ummah to continue to pray for peace, progress, and development of the country.
