Sharon Ooja is a famous Nollywood actress, model and TV personality. She came into the limelight after playing the role of “Shalewa” in the web series “Skinny Girl In Transit” (SGIT) by Ndani Television.
Sharon Ooja played the main character in the popular Netflix film about sex trafficking titled “Oloture”. She also hosted the red carpet at GT Bank’s Fashion Week alongside Nollywood actor, Timini Egbuson in 2017.

Sharon Ooja’s childhood
Though originally from Benue State, Sharon Ooja was born in Kaduna State into a family of six. She and her siblings were raised in Plateau State. The actress often talks about how stubborn she was as a child, though she had remarked having a wonderful childhood experience.

Sharon Ooja had her primary education at Kings and Queens School in Jos. For her secondary education, she attended two all-girls boarding schools – Regina Pacis Secondary School in Garki II, Abuja and St. Louis Girls’ College, Jos.
After secondary school, Sharon Ooja proceeded to Houdegbe North American University in Cotonou, Benin Republic, where she earned a degree in Mass Communication.

Sharon Ooja has described her entry into acting as a coincidence. According to her, she moved to Lagos in 2013 in search of greener pastures. She had a photo shoot at that time at a store, where Ndani TV covered the “Behind The Scenes” activities of the shoot.
Sharon Ooja said she was later asked to come for an interview the following week after the photoshoot by Ndani TV for a TV show, which unfortunately didn’t happen. She later got to play a small role in the TV series “Gidi Up” by same Ndani TV for a short period before landing the role of “Shalewa” in their next web series, “Skinny Girl in Transit” in 2016.
Playing “Shalewa” in “Skinny Girl in Transit” brought Sharon Ooja into the limelight and gained her more attention in the Nigerian movie industry.
Sharon Ooja has always expressed how supportive her parents are towards her acting career, most especially her mother, who was also in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She said her dad often watches her movies and records some of her scenes on his phone, and would sometimes call her to compliment her.

She said most of them rarely see beyond her physique and consider her to be materialistic. She affectionately expressed that the reverse is the case for her as she is way more than their perception and she can only be attracted to an intelligent man who can engage her intellectually.
