Nigerian singer Seyi Shay has gotten it hot from Nigerians on social media after news and video of her telling a 17-year-old boy that he would never make money being a singer at the 2021 Nigerian Idol auditions, where she was a judge.
Seyi Shay told the boy:
“Who told you to come and audition? Somebody lied to you…somebody told you to come and audition. You should go back and tell them they are not your friends. That was not a good audition.
“It wasn’t good. You have a sweet talking voice and it comes out with your singing voice but your performance terrible. You are never going to make money being a singer, babes. I love you. You are so sweet but you are not a singer.”

Nigerians descended on Seyi Shay after the video came out with many agreeing that she was too harsh on the boy.
