Iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has died in Paris.
Until his death, the German designer, aged 85, was the creative director for Chanel and Fendi.
Lagerfield was one of the most prolific figures in the fashion industry, with a long list of noteworthy collections to his name.
He had, before his passing, been unwell for several weeks, and had missed a number of fashion shows.
Many fashion industry heavyweights have paid tribute to Lagerfeld, including Italian designer Donatella Versace, who posted on Instagram:
“Karl your genius touched the lives of so many, especially Gianni and I. We will never forget your incredible talent and endless inspiration. We were always learning from you.”
Victoria Beckham, one of the young designers Lagerfield inspired, wrote:
“So incredibly sad to hear this. Karl was a genius and always so kind and generous to me both personally and professionally. RIP ?”
