Police arrests #EndSARS activist Eromosele Adene in Lagos

The Nigerian police have arrested Eromosele Peter Adene, one of the #EndSARS campaigners in Lagos.

According to local media, Eromosele Adene was arrested on Saturday, November 7, at his Ikeja residence and transported to the office of the Commissioner of Police where he was forced to write a statement.

There are reports of an ongoing hunt of the faces behind the recent #EndSARS protests that rocked the country weeks ago by security agencies.

The Lagos Police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Friday said the police will not allow any form of gathering, procession or assembly to hold in the state again.

This announcement comes despite every Nigerian citizen’s constitutional right to peaceful gathering and association.

The Nigerian Government through the Central Bank of Nigeria earlier in the week had obtained a court order to freeze the bank accounts of some #EndSARS participants and promoters – a move that has been widely condemned in all quarters.
