Anambra man arrested for killing his two children with wood pestle

Police in Anambra State has arrested one Mr Ifeanyi Apusiobi from Ogbunike Town in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State for allegedly killing his two children with a wooden pestle.

In the process of killing his children, Mr Ifeanyi Apusiobi also allegedly used the same kitchen tool to inflict injuries on his 72 –year old father, Dominic Apusiobi.

It was gathered that Mr Ifeanyi Apusiobi used a wooden pestle to crush the heads of his two children: Chinecherem (girl, aged 7) and Obinna (boy, aged 5) while they were sleeping.

Mr Dominic is currently responding to treatment but Ifeanyi’s two children were pronounced dead on arrival to the clinic.

The suspect has been arrested with the pestle taken as “exhibit.” The case has been transferred to the State CID in Awka for a thorough investigation.
