Rita Dominic’s childhood
Rita Dominic was born on July 12, 1975, into the royal Nwaturuocha family in Aboh Mbaise, Imo State. She is the youngest of four siblings. Her parents, although now late, were medical practitioners. Rita Dominic had her secondary school education in Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. In 1990, Rita Dominic graduated with a first-class B.A degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt.

Rita Dominic began acting at a young age. She appeared in several TV programs and advertisements in Imo State before eventually joining Nollywood. She made her acting debut in the 1998 Nollywood drama “A Time to Kill”. Rita Dominic has since gone on to star in hundreds of other movies.
Rita Dominic appeared in the 2008 drama film ‘White Waters’. It won four awards at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2008, from a total of 12 nominations.
Rita Dominic has starred in several other award-winning and high-grossing movies including Iyore, The Meeting, Bound, ‘76, and La Femme Anjola.
Rita Dominic is currently the only actress from West Africa to have won the “Best Actress” award at Kenya’s Kalasha Awards.
