Kogi State Chief Judge Nasir Ajanah dies of coronavirus

The Chief Judge of Kogi State Nasir Ajanah has reportedly died of coronavirus disease.

According to The Cable NG, Nasir Ajanah’s death was confirmed by a close family source. The family member also disclosed that Nasir Ajanah died at the COVID-19 isolation centre in Gwagwalada, Abuja.

News of Nasir Ajanah’s death is coming only a week after the death of Ibrahim Shaibu Atadoga, the president of the Kogi State Customary Court of Appeal was reported.

The late Judge who was aged 64 served in various capacities as a high judge. Nasir Ajanah was the Chairman of the Kabba Disturbance Tribunal, Kogi, in 1994.

In 1998, he was Chairman, Election Petitions Tribunal in Adamawa State.

He was appointed member of Governing Council of Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies between 1999 and 2006.

In 2000, Nasir Ajanah became Chairman of a panel on Murtala Mohammed International airport fire incident.

As Kogi State Chief Judge, Nasir Ajanah swore in Edward Onoja as the state’s Deputy Governor in 2019.

Nasir Ajanah will be buried today, June 28, in Abuja.
