The Tonto Dikeh and her ex-husband’s Father’s Day drama

Beloved Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has had a fair share of controversies since her coming to fame as an actress.

One of the Port Harcourt-born actress’s most notable controversies is the collapse of her marriage to Mr Olakunle Churchill. The marriage which ended many years ago has managed to remain a topic of media attention for so long.

The two exes have a son together Andre who has been in Tonto Dikeh’s care since her separation from Churchill.

Today June 21 being World Father’s day, 35-year-old Tonto Dikeh took to social media to wish herself a Happy Father’s day. According to her, being her son’s father has been a great honour.

She wrote on Instagram:

“Happy Fathers Day TO ME BECAUSE I’VE DONE IT ALL BY MYSELF AND ACED IT ANYWAYS.. Actions prove who someone is.. Words just prove who they want to be…DEAREST SON @kingandre_dikeh, BEING YOUR DAD HAS BEEN A GREAT HONOR..
THANKS FOR MAKING ME MR MOM
I LOVE YOU KIDDO.”

Olakunle Churchill, the ex-husband of Tonto Dikeh, on his own Instagram page penned down a lengthy post about recognizing fathers.

According to him, a father will always be a father irrespective of marital challenges.

Sharing a merged photo of him and his son, Churchill wrote:

“Happy Fathers’ Day to all the fathers in the world. A father is a father irrespective of marital challenges. A father is not only by way of giving birth to a child; but by way of taking caring of children around you, and children around the world who are in need.

I pray for all the fathers in the world that your child/children will not be used as a tool of jealousy, because of broken relationships like it’s done in the old Era.

As I celebrate this day, I pray this won’t be the era when single parenting ends up affecting a child/ children’s mentality thereby confusing them.”

This is no time to pick sides – the most important thing is that Andre is loved and being taken care of.
