First son of Nigerian singer Yinka Davies dies at 27

Nigerian singer and dancer Yinka Davies has announced the death of her 27- year-old son.

The young man whose name was Jeremiah Bankole died last Friday, January 29th, after a long battle with a rare autoimmune disorder called Wegener granulomatosis.

Jeremiah was reportedly in and out of the hospital in the last 10 months before his death.

He was the first son of the singer and should be turning 28 by 21st of February before he passed.

According to the mum, “the child was an active child and keeping him in one place would have been so tiresome as he refused to be admitted because he gets bored easily. The family is still in grief as it is too much to process his demise”.

The former Nigerian Idol judge penned an emotional tribute to her son on her Instagram page.

She wrote:

“For those who held you in their hearts, those you waved at on your strolls, For those who cried the tears they couldn’t hold back, Cos you are no more here.

“For those who washed you when you were weak, those who were scared to see you ill, For those who thought you madly stubborn cos you, Wouldn’t take another pill.”
