The nomination list for the 2020 BET awards is out and Nigeria is duly represented.
Nigerian acts Wizkid, Burnaboy and Rema all bagged nominations.
Wizkid was nominated under the BET Her Award category for his collaboration with Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter and Saint Jhn in Brown Skin Girl.
Burna Boy clinched the highly coveted Best International Act nomination, going head-to-head with such talents like Sho Madjozi (South Africa), Innoss’B (DRC), Stormzy (U.K.), Ninho (France), etc.
Burna Boy won the same award at the 2019 BET Awards where his mum Bose Ogulu gave a moving speech about being and living Black.
Rema for his first BET nomination was nominated in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category.
Zimbabwean act, Sha Sha was also nominated in this category.
