The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) announced yesterday, Saturday, July 12, that it has commenced the 2020 recruitment exercise for new officers.
The general requirements for the 2020 Nigeria Police recruitment exercise are:
1. Nature of the 2020 NPF recruitment
The recruitment exercise is for new police constables. In Nigeria, Police Constables are officers ranking above the Recruit but below the Corporal.
2. Date and running period of the 2020 Nigeria Police recruitment
The 2020 Nigeria Police recruitment for constables will start in July and end in mid-August.
3. Age limit of the 2020 Nigeria Police recruitment
To qualify to apply, candidates must fall between the ages of 17 and 25. Candidates younger than 17 will be rejected as well as applicants older than 25.
5. Educational requirements for the 2020 Nigeria Police recruitment
Intended applicants for the 2020 NPF recruitment exercise must possess an O-Level certificate with a minimum of five credits, including English and Mathematics. WASSCE, NECO, GCE and NABTEB are all accepted.
6. Other requirements for the 2020 NPF recruitment for new constables
Aspiring applicants must be both medically, physically, and psychologically fit to apply. Any applicant with an underlying health condition will be rejected. Intending applicants must also not be shorter than 1.67m (for males) and 1.64m (females).
Female applicants who are pregnant at the time of the recruitment will be rejected. Individuals with certain kinds of disabilities such as vision impairment, knocked knees, bowlegs, bent knees and amputees are required not to apply for the Nigerian Police Force.

Applicants who meet all the listed requirements should visit www.policerecruitment.gov.ng and complete the online registration form.
Candidates who passed the online registration stage will be invited for physical screening at all state commands, including FCT Command.
The physical screening exercise for the 2020 Nigeria Police recruitment will run for one month, starting on 24th August 2020 and ending on 30th August 2020.
By 14th September 2020, the names of successful candidates who will become new officers will be published in national newspapers and other platforms.
