As part of the activities lined up for the commemoration of Nigeria’s 60th Independence Day Anniversary, President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation by 10 am today, October 1, 2020.

Buhari’s Independence Day address will be an open air broadcast, which will take place at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

The President’s open-air address will replace the traditional early morning radio and television broadcast, a statement by Buhari’s media aide said.

Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said the live address will commence after the Anniversary Parade at 10 am and the event will be covered by major television and radio stations in the country, including NTA and FRCN.

A part of the statement reads:

“Please note that in view of the open-air live address, the traditional early morning October 1 Presidential Broadcast will not feature on Thursday.”
