The death of Nigerian billionaire businessman Harry Akande has been confirmed.
He was aged 77.
Harry Ayodele Akande was a well known Nigerian billionaire who is often described as one of Nigeria’s richest men. He was also famous for being the father-in-law of Nollywood actress, Dakore Egbuson-Akande.
According to a family statement, Mr Harry Akande died in the early hours of Saturday, December 5, 2020, after a brief illness.
Late Akande was the chairman of Akande International Corporation (AIC), a business conglomerate with interest in healthcare, engineering, building construction and power. He was also a one-time presidential aspirant on the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) platform.
He is survived by his children including his son, Olumide Akande, who is married to Nollywood actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande.
