Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James Omiyinka popularly known as Baba Ijesha has been granted bail.
Baba Ijesha who has been in police custody in PANTI since his arrest in April for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl was granted bail today May 17, on health grounds by a magistrate.
The magistrate was at the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID, Panti to review some cases in a bid to decongest the police facility.
Though Baba Ijesha’s bail application has been granted, the actor is yet to be released.
As of the time of publishing this post, his lawyer, Adesina Ogunlana, is working on meeting his bail conditions which include that he must have two sureties.
One of the sureties must be a Level-10 public officer while the second surety must be a relation of the actor. Baba Ijesha’s bail is put at N500, 000 in bond.
The molestation suspect is yet to be charged to court due to the industrial strike by the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN).
