Nigerian Grammy-winning musician Burna Boy has released his 7th studio album titled “I Told Them”.

Released on August 25, 2023, the 15-track album has garnered widely mixed reviews from critics and fans. While some critics have praised Burna Boy’s vocals and talent, others have criticized the album for being “needlessly controversial” and “pompous”.

One of the tracks off Burna Boy’s new album “I Told Them” that has received massive attention is “Thanks” which featured J. Cole. In “Thanks”, Burna Boy appears to be dissing his fellow Nigerian musicians and Nigerians in general who he feels have not been very appreciative for, according to the song’s lyrics, making them proud.
