Creamy-voiced English songwriter George Michael has died.
Michael who sold tens of millions of albums as a member of the duo Wham! and on his own and won numerous awards was found dead on Sunday 25 December at his home in Goring in Oxfordshire, England.
He was 53.
A police statement said: “…at this stage, his death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.”
Mr. Michael’s manager, Michael Lippman, told The Hollywood Reporter that Mr. Michael had died of heart failure “in bed, lying peacefully.”
He was best known in the 1980s and 1990s with his style of post-disco dance-pop, with best-selling songs such as “Last Christmas” and “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”.
