‘Thank you but we will not vote you!’ – Nigerian man tells Atiku

by Staff writer

Following President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent gaffe at the Commonwealth Business Forum in London where he called Nigerian youths lazy and uneducated, former Nigerian vice president and 2019 presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, took to his Twitter account to counter the president’s remark about young Nigerians.

“I will never refer to Nigeria’s youth as people who sit and do nothing,” Atiku wrote.

“I should know because I have thousands of youths working for me all over the country who have been the backbone to our success.”

In reply, a Nigerian Twitter user thanked the former vice president for his support and kind words, before going on to assure him that he’ll still not be voted into office come 2019.

“Thank you for supporting and standing by us…” the man wrote.

“But you see, in 2019, we will not vote you.”
