Nigeria denies plans to pay repented Boko Haram terrorists N150K monthly

The Federal Government of Nigeria has denied reports circulating on social media that it is planning to start paying repented Boko Haram members the sum of N150,000 monthly.

The special assistant to the president on new media Bashir Ahmad stated the reports are fake in a statement posted on Twitter, Thursday night, November 12.

Ahmad wrote on Twitter:

“FAKE NEWS ALERT: The Federal Government is NOT planning to start paying repented Boko Haram members N150,000 monthly, the story is baseless and should be regarded as the usual fake news. When you see it here or on WhatsApp, ask the poster to provide a credible source of the story.”
