Wizkid is a Nigerian singer and songwriter whose full name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun. He is the owner of the record label, Starboy Entertainment.
Wizkid was born on July 16, 1990, and he is currently 30 years old. Wizkid had all of his early education in Lagos. He then attended Ijebu Ode Grammar School for his secondary education. But he was unable to complete his tertiary education. He first dropped out of Lagos State University (LASU). He later attended Lead City University but also dropped out in his second year at the institution.
Wizkid revealed that he began recording music at the age of 11 with the church serving as his first platform. At a young age, he managed to release a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group composed of a couple of his friends. Wizkid was also fortunate to watch top musicians like Naeto C, 2 Face, Sound Sultan, etc., record their hit songs.
By 2009, Wizkid got signed under the Empire Mates Entertainment owned and managed by Banky W. Wizkid became the first Afrobeats artist to appear in the 2018 Guinness World Records for his collaboration with Drake on the “One Dance” hit single. He has recently released his fourth studio album, Made in Lagos on October 30, 2020. The critically acclaimed album had guest appearances from British artists Skepta and Ella Mai, American R&B singer H.E.R, Jamaican artists Projexx and Damian Marley, and Nigerian artists Burna Boy, Tems, Tay Iwar and Terri.
