Who is Frank Edwards?

Frank Edwards is a Nigerian gospel artiste and songwriter. His full name is Frank Ugochukwu Edwards. He owns the record label, ‘Rocktown Records’ which is home to other prominent gospel musicians, including Micah Heavens, King BAS, Divine, David, and Nkay. 

Frank Edwards is also known by the nickname, Frank Richboy. He has been nominated for several awards and has won quite a good number of them. Frank has released over 60 songs and albums. Some of his hit songs include “You Too Dey Bless Me”, “Opomulero”, “Okaka”, and “No One Like You”. 

Frank Edwards’ songs have become globally popular and are being sung at worship events in different parts of the world.

Frank Edwards childhood and education

Frank Edwards was born on the 22nd of July, 1989, and he is 32 years old at present. Frank is a native of Enugu State. He has five siblings; all of whom were raised by their parents in Enugu.

Frank Edwards experienced a tough childhood as he was a child hawker. His parents were poor and he had to hawk his mother’s food to make ends meet. 

There is no information about Frank Edwards’ education. The gospel artiste either received no formal education or has decided not to share the information. He learned how to play the keyboard at the age of seven. 

Frank Edwards’ music career

Frank Edwards began his career in the church. He is a member of Christ Embassy Church pastored by Chris Oyakhilome. Frank Edwards noted that his church and pastor are huge contributors to his growth in the music industry.

Edwards was a part of the church choir and he received most of his musical training there. He also mentioned his pastor loved singing and that inspired him greatly to sing as well.

Frank Edwards has remarked on how amazing it was to be personally mentored by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. He is currently a member of the Christ Embassy music band. 

Frank Edwards’ debut album “The Definition” was released in 2008. The album contained 14 songs in total. He released his second album, “Angels on the Runway” in 2010. The following year, Frank released two albums: “Unlimited” and “Tagjam”, all of which found success among fans of gospel music.

Frank is the founder of Rocktown Record Label which has trained other gospel talents such as Soltune, Divine, Nkay Gil Joe, David, King BAS, etc. He was featured in the live performance of Sinach’s song, “I Know Who I Am” (2013).

Frank Edwards released another album, “Spiritual Music Season” in 2018. He also featured Nathaniel Bassey and Micah Stampley in his album, titled “Frankincense”. The album topped the Nigerian iTunes album chart, surpassing Beyonce and Adele’s albums.

Frank Edwards has also collaborated with other local and international gospel musicians. In 2016, he collaborated with veteran gospel musician, Don Moen, in the production of the album, “Grace”. He also collaborated with a fellow Nigerian gospel artiste, Nathaniel Bassey, in the release of “Thy Will Be Done”.

Additionally, he partnered with Jeanine Zoe in the song, “I’m in Love with You”. Other artistes Frank Edwards has collaborated with include Joe Praiz, Eben, Micah Stampley, and Ada Ehi.

Frank Edwards’ relationship and marriage
