Who is Judikay?
Judikay is a Nigerian gospel singer whose full name is Judith Kanayo. She is currently signed to Eezee Conceptz record label alongside other renowned gospel artists like Mercy Chinwo, GUC, Chidinma Ekile and Tim Godfrey.
Judikay is a native of Asaba in Delta state. She was born on October 26 and she is currently in her early 30s. Judikay is a graduate of Theatre Arts from Redeemer’s University in Osun state.
Judikay started her career as a backup artist for Nigerian musician, Florocka, whose full name is Akinwunmi Nathan Oluniyi Akiremi before releasing her debut single titled ‘Nobody Else’ in 2013.
The song met a positive reception among music lovers and in 2019, Judikay followed up with the hit jam ‘More Than Gold’ featuring top gospel artist, Mercy Chinwo.
The song became an instant success, shooting Judikay to the limelight. That same year, Judikay launched a 14-track album titled ‘Man of Galilee’ in November 2019.
Judikay has since become a favourite among gospel music lovers, with several top-charting songs to her name. Judikay has also found global fame through her music.
Judikay’s marriage and wedding
Judikay got married to Mr Anselem Opara in 2020. They had their traditional wedding on August 15, 2020, at Judikay’s hometown in Oshimili Local Government Area of Delta State.
Their white wedding was held in Lagos on November 7, 2020, at Christian Pentecostal Mission. The ceremony had the entire Eezee Concept family and other gospel celebrities and friends in attendance.
Judikay and her husband were gifted a car (a brand new 2016 Hyundai Elantra) by the CEO of Eezee Conceptz, Eezee Tee, at their wedding.
Judikay’s wedding date
Judikay’s wedding was initially planned to take place on the 24th of October, 2020 in Ota, Ogun State, but due to the #EndSARS protests and the Lekki Tollgate shooting that happened on October 20, the wedding was moved to a later date.
Judikay announced their decision to shift the wedding date on social media, writing:
“Due to the ongoing state of things in the country (Nigeria), it has been collectively agreed that it’d be in the best interest and safety of all our guests for the wedding be moved to a later date”.
The wedding later took place on November 7, 2020, in a church in Lagos.
About Judikay’s husband
Mr Anselem Opara is the lawfully wedded husband of gospel singer, Judikay. His full name is Anselem Opara Iyke.
Just like his wife, Mr Opara is also a gospel minister and the author of the book titled ‘Decoy’. Judikay’s husband, Anselem Opara is a pastor at Cross Point Church, Lekki, Lagos.
Despite being a gospel minister and the husband of a popular singer, information about Mr Anselem Opara is sparsely available in the media.
Judikay’s children
As of the time of writing this article (August 2021), gospel singer Judikay does not yet have a child.
