How Beth Mead started her career
Beth Mead was first introduced to football at the age of six. She started to play for the Middlesbrough Academy when she was just nine. At sixteen, Beth Mead got signed to Sunderland, one of the best teams in England at the time. In the 2012-13 season, she won the FA WPL Golden Boot. One month later, Mead’s partner and teammate Vivianne Miedema also ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and was taken off the pitch on a stretcher during Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Lyon.
