Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams has checked herself into a mental health facility to seek help for her struggle with depression.
Michelle who confirmed the news on her Instagram page said that as a mental health awareness advocate, she finally “listened to the same advice” she’s given to others.
Sources confirm Williams is getting treated in a facility just outside of Los Angeles and has been in therapy for several days now.
Michelle, 37, has been open with her struggles in the past, revealing her battle with depression and suicidal thoughts in an interview last year.
“For years, I’m in one of the top-selling female groups of all time suffering with depression, Michelle Williams said in an interview on US TV in October 2017.
“It got really, really bad, to the point of being suicidal.”
She added: “I was at that place where it got so dark and heavy because sometimes you feel like ‘I’m the provider, I take care of people, I’m not supposed to be feeling this way – what do I do?’
“I wanted out.”
Stars like Missy Elliot has reached out to the singer in support.
Williams famously reunited with Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland at Coachella in April, the first time the group had performed together in several years.
