Obaseki joins PDP, renames Oshiomole Street after Bukola Saraki

Following the earlier disagreement with his former political party APC, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has formally joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In confirmation of his formal defection to APC’s rival party, Governor Obaseki shared a photo of his new PDP poster on Twitter with the hashtag: #ForwardEverBackwardNever.

Mr Obaseki was disqualified by his former party, APC, from seeking re-election allegedly for submitting questionable certificates.

The Edo governor later announced his resignation from the APC and has now formally confirmed his defection to PDP.

In other news, the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, whom Mr Obaseki blames for his travails in the party has now been suspended from office, following an appeal court ruling.

Following their disagreement, Obaseki who is still sitting governor has renamed a former Adams Oshiomole Street in Edo State after former head of senate, Bukola Saraki.
