At least one police officer has been reported dead in a car accident involving a police van in Akure this afternoon, October 13.
A van carrying officers of the Nigerian Police crashed this afternoon in Akure, leaving at least one of the officers dead and others seriously injured.
The exact cause of the accident is not yet known but social media reports allege the police van was pursuing a man and had been over-speeding.
The accident happened along Airport Road, Oba Ile, Akure, Ondo State around 12 pm, we gathered.
