The Twitter account of Nigerian vocal journalist and social media celebrity read zero followers in the early hours of today, October 13, prompting some Nigerian social media users to think it was suspended.
Ms Olunloyo’s Twitter account was massively reported by Nigerians who disapprove of her constant opposition to the ongoing #ENDSARS campaign.
Kemi Olunloyo has often criticized the ongoing protests and clamour for the abolishment of the dreaded SARS police unit, insisting that SARS cannot be scrapped but will only be reformed.
Kemi Olunloyo’s insistence on reform instead of total scrapping of SARS had angered a lot of Nigerian Twitter users who stormed the platform in their numbers to report Olunloyo’s account.
Afraid she might lose her account, the shrewd journalist pulled a fast one on her haters and temporarily deactivated her account. When she reactivated it back, her Twitter following read zero, prompting Nigerians to believe Twitter had suspended her account.
Upon the full restoration of her account, Ms Olunloyo blasted those she called ‘enemies’ who had thought her account was suspended and rejoiced over it.
