Nigerian security officers which included men of the Nigerian Police and Army have stormed the Lekki Tollgate area of Lagos in what looks like an attempt to thwart the proposed second wave of the #EndSARS protests which is slowly gathering momentum.
A source told DNB Stories that dozens of uniformed security operatives were sighted at the tollgate area in the early hours of today, December 7.
At the peak of the #EndSARS protests in October this year, young Nigerians stormed the streets in their numbers to agitate for an end to the dreaded SARS police unit and all manner of police brutality in Nigeria.
The protest was later hijacked by hoodlums which turned the once peaceful protests violent.
On October 20, 2020, men of the Nigerian army opened fire on unarmed protesters sitting in at the Lekki Tollgate.
The event provoked a spate of uncontrolled violence across the country which claimed many lives and properties.
