US former President Barack Obama has released a list of his favourite songs of the year 2020 and “Essence” – a song by Nigerian singer Wizkid which featured Tems, made the list.
The 30-track list, drawn from songs from different artistes across the world, represent the songs Obama finds the most thrilling for the year.
The former president said he consulted his daughter Sasha who he described as the “family music guru” for help in putting the list together.
Obama encouraged his social media fans and supporters to check the songs out.
He wrote on Twitter:
“Here are some of my favourite songs of the year. As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to.”
Obama had earlier released his 2020 Summer Playlist around August which also included songs of some Nigerian artistes such as Burna Boy and Jorja Smith’s “Be Honest”, Davido and Tems’ “Know Your Worth” remix, and Wizkid and H.E.R.’s “Smile”.
