Nigerian footballer Asisat Oshoala loses mom

Nigerian professional footballer Asisat Oshoala has lost her mother.

The talented soccer player confirmed the news of her mother’s death on Instagram, writing:

“Sometimes, life just hit us hard in places we can’t respond.”

Asisat Oshoala said in a voice note posted online that she is still finding it difficult to accept the news of her mother’s death.

The heartbroken sportswoman said she is still battling to process the news.

Friends, colleagues and supporters of the footballer have trooped to her social media page to commemorate with her.

Asisat Oshoala currently plays for the women’s section of FC Barcelona called FC Barcelona Femení.

The Ikorodu-born soccer star was named best player and was the highest goal scorer at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
