The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a 4th phase of the COVID-19 partial lockdown as part of the continued efforts to minimize the spread of the novel virus.

The announcement follows the reinstating of the 12 am to 4 am nationwide curfew, effective from Tuesday, May 11, 2021, and the restriction of mass gatherings to just 50 persons.

Night clubs, gyms, and others public service facilities would also remain closed till further notice.

The announcement was made by the National Incident Manager, Mukhtar Mohammed, at a press briefing of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 in Abuja.

Mohammed said the curfew would take effect from midnight on Monday, May 10.
