‘I’m not a Nigerian artiste. I don’t make money from Nigeria’ – Burna Boy tweets

Nigerian-born singer Burna Boy has revealed to his fans that he is not a Nigerian artiste and does not make money from Nigeria.

Burna Boy made the statement during an argument on Twitter between his fans and non-fans.

The Grammy-winning artiste wrote:

“Me wey no even be Nigerian artist.”

Another Twitter user criticized him for denying his nationality and the singer added:

“I’m from here and I live here because I love my home and my people, E no pass like that. I don’t make money from Nigeria. Na only cruise dey here.”

Another follower hit back at the singer, reminding him of the millions Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike splashed on him during the homecoming ceremony organized for him in Rivers state.

Burna Boy again denied this, writing:

“Lol. I didn’t get a dime. Only the artists who honoured me by performing at my homecoming were paid. Get your facts right.”
