List of public holidays in Nigeria this Christmas and New Year 2021

There will be a total of three public holidays in Nigeria this Christmas and New Year 2021/2022 as declared by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The holidays are:

  1. Monday 27th December 2021 to mark Christmas Day
  2. Tuesday 28th December 2021 to mark Boxing Day
  3. Monday, 3rd January 2022 to mark New Year Day

The announcement was made by Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on behalf of the Federal Government. Aregbesola, in a statement sighted by DNB Stories Africa, on Wednesday, felicitated with Christians and all Nigerians both home and abroad on this year’s celebrations.

The minister also urged Nigerians to “emulate the life of Jesus Christ” as they celebrate his birth.

Aregbesola seized the opportunity to also remind Nigerians about the ongoing pandemic and enjoined them to observe all set COVID-19 protocols and guidelines as they go about their businesses.
