There was anxiety in Lagos this afternoon after an unidentified helicopter crashed into a private residence at Salvation Road, Opebi area of Ikeja, at around 12:15 pm.
Two people have been confirmed dead from the Ikeja helicopter crash today, August 28, 2020.
Another person was badly injured and has been taken to the hospital. The dead bodies have been deposited at the mortuary, emergency authorities confirm.
Men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are already on the scene as at the time of publishing this post and working to return the situation to normalcy.

The Nigerian Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has confirmed the incident and said they have started investigations to determine cause of the Opebi helicopter crash.
AIB is the body in charge of investigating all aviation-related accidents and incidents in Nigeria.
The General Manager of LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu told reporters:
“The helicopter was carrying three people, one is in the intensive care unit at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, while the other two were killed on impact and their bodies have been deposited in a mortuary. We are on top of challenges, especially crowd control. The operation is ongoing and updates will follow.”
