Veteran Nollywood actor Jimoh Aliu ‘Aworo’ is dead

The death of Nollywood veteran actor, Jimoh Aliu, has been confirmed.

Jimoh Aliu died at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital in Ekiti State on Thursday, September 17, 2020.

He was aged 86.

A close friend of the actor said Jimoh’s body would be buried in his hometown in Okemesi Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Friday.

Jimoh Aliu was completing the first of his five-movies project, Olowo Ite, before his death. The movies were expected to feature top Nollywood actors.

Jimoh Aliu who is known by the nickname “Aworo” began acting in the 50s and has since featured in over 50 Yoruba movies. He was a former President of the association of Nigeria Theatre Practitioners (ANTP).
