Former Lagos PPRO Dolapo Badmus denies demotion news

Police CSP Dolapo Badmus has described the report that she has been demoted by the Nigerian Police Service Commission as “fake news”.

The former Lagos PPRO debunked the report in a tweet she made on her official Twitter account today, Saturday, October 17.

A member of President Muhammadu Buhari’s media team, Ayo Akanji had in a series of tweets earlier today said that Dolapo Badmus and a former head of the Police Complaint Unit, Yomi Shogunle are among the police officers punished for misconduct over issues connected to the illegal activities of the defunct SARS police unit.

The Police Service Commission had earlier announced its decision to take administrative action against 37 former operatives of the notorious Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) over allegations of severe professional misconduct.

Some of the officers were reprimanded while others were demoted and some effectively dismissed. Popular police officers, Abayomi Shogunle and Dolapo Badmus were reported to be among the reprimanded and demoted officers.
