Ghana former president Jerry Rawlings dies of COVID-19

Former president of Ghana Jerry Rawlings has died from coronavirus complications.

The ex-president died at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra on Thursday morning, November 11.

He was aged 73.

Rawlings was the president of Ghana from 1981 to 2001. He led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the democratically elected president of Ghana.
