Ugandan singer Cindy Sanyu blasts Omah Lay for coming to perform in Uganda

Ugandan musician Cinderella Sanyu, better known by her stage name Cindy Sanyu, has lambasted Nigerian singer Omah Lay for coming to perform in Uganda during a lockdown.

Cindy Sanyu on an Instagram live video referred to Omah Lay as an “idiot” who came into the country and had a “successful concert” while the country was on lockdown.

She said:

“A foreigner had a concert in this country where there is no social distancing and no masks and this idiot even posted it online and was very proud about the fact that he had a successful concert in Uganda.”

Cindy Sanyu is one of Uganda’s top musicians. The 35-year-old singer has performed with several Nigerian artistes including the likes of P-Square, Tiwa Savage and Davido.

Omah Lay and Tems have been remanded in prison in Uganda following their arrest on Sunday, December 13.

New reports say they will both appear in court again on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
