JAMB criticized for sharing Whatsapp status message as official information on Twitter

Nigeria’s Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has been criticized on Twitter for sharing a screenshot of a Whatsapp message as official information on their verified handle.

The examinations body passed vital information about the registration process and dates for their 2021 exams through a screenshot from Whatsapp.

Many Nigerians have termed the post “unprofessional” and criticized JAMB for not hiring a competent graphics person for the job.

One person wrote:

“Which kind laziness Dey worry jamb like this. Na person status una screenshot as official info.”

Another person added:

“There is an app called office, it’s a mobile version of Ms Office even Canva & Polaris, let’s say there’s no laptop to type, It’s free. There are even cyber cafes you can pay N150 to type this haphazard rubbish , but no y’all are emotionally attached to mediocrity.”

In 2020, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said it remitted about 7 Billion naira to the Federal Government as part of unused funds generated by the organization.
