Nigeria’s fast-rising music artiste Rema has finally picked up the SUV he won at the 2019 Headies.
Rema picked up the car two days ago and was recently spotted cruising around town in it.
The car came as a side win for the Headies “Next Rated Act” category. Past winners of the Headies Next Rated award are Mayorkun (2019), Mr Eazi (2018), Reekado Banks (2016), etc.
Rema whose real name is Divine Ikubor said he didn’t pick up the award plaque and car since because of the pandemic and his busy schedule.
The 20-year-old Mavin signee said:
“Due to the problems in the country and my busy schedule, I have not been able to come to pick up the car. But right now, I am really laid back, so I had the time to come pick it up, big shoutout to HipTV for this one. So yeah, time to drive home.”
Rema recently bagged a nomination at the upcoming 2020 BET Awards in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category.
The “Ginger Me” singer was recently involved in a minor Twitter controversy after fans accused him of rigging a contest he threw on the platform to the favour of a close friend.
