Controversial Nigerian politician and ex-minister Femi Fani-Kayode has denied claims that he is planning to marry Kannywood actress Halima Yusuf as his 5th wife.
The 59-year-old former aviation minister who has been married and divorced multiple times took to his Instagram page to refute the rumours that he is planning to take Halima Yusuf as his 5th wife.
Femi Fani-Kayode who is often referred to as FFK in the media said: “Miss Halima Yusuf, who has been cited as my fiancee, is simply a dear friend and confidante who I have the utmost respect for and who I hold in high esteem.”
Femi Fani-Kayode and his 4th wife, Precious Chikwendu separated this year amid allegations of domestic abuse and violence.
Fani-Kayode has appealed to those circulating the news of his rumoured marriage plans to Halima Yusuf to desist from such act.
Femi Fani-Kayode full post on Instagram reads:
“There have been wild speculations in the social media that I am planning to get married again. This is false. Miss Halima Yusuf, who has been cited as my fiancee, is simply a dear friend and confidante who I have the utmost respect for and who I hold in high esteem. She, together with others, has been a source of immense comfort for me and mine at this time and for this I am eternally grateful to her. I appeal to all those peddling the falsehood that we are about to get married to please desist from doing so.”

Halima Yusuf is a popular and award-winning Nigerian actress who acts in Hausa films – the part of Nollywood called Kannywood. Halima Yusuf is also known as Halima Atete. She has featured in over 12 Hausa movies and counting. Halima Yusuf was born and raised in Maiduguri, Borno state and she is currently 31 years old.
