ASUU suspends 9 months strike, schools to resume immediately

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has finally suspended its long-running strike which has lasted nine months.

ASUU announced the suspension of the strike at a press conference held Wednesday morning in Abuja.

President of the union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, said the suspension of the strike takes effect from tomorrow, Thursday, December 24, 2020.

The just suspended strike has been described as the longest strike in Nigeria since 1999.
