Nigerian government releases a statement congratulating Burna Boy and Wizkid over Grammy win

The Federal Government of Nigeria has released a statement congratulating Nigerian singers Burna Boy and Wizkid over their recent Grammy award wins at the just-concluded 2021 awards event.

Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed in the March 15 statement said the Grammy wins of both artistes represent a “global endorsement for the Afrobeat genre of music that has propelled Nigeria’s increasing dominance of the music world.”

Lai Mohammed also remarked that winning a Grammy will not just push the singers to greater success but their victories will also serve to motivate other singers.
