Presidency confirms robbery attack in Aso Rock villa

Nigeria’s Presidency has confirmed that suspected robbers attempted to break into the official residence of President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, around the Presidential Villa.

The Chief of Staff, Prof. Gambari confirmed the incident to Presidential Villa journalists on Monday, describing it as a “foolish attempt” that was not successful.

The attack has also been confirmed by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu who tweeted on Monday night:

“The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00 am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.”

The Aso Rock robbery attack has further increased concerns about rising insecurity in Nigeria.
