The death of Emir of Zazzau in Kaduna State, Alhaji (Dr.) Shehu Idris has been confirmed.
Emir Shehu Idris died at the age of 84. Shehu Idris’s death was confirmed by Bashir Ahmad, Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media.
Bashir Ahmad said the monarch died this morning, September 20, 2020.
Alhaji Shehu Idris reportedly died at an Army 44 Reference Hospital in Kaduna after a short admission. He has reportedly been suffering an undisclosed ailment for around 10 years. Shehu Idris ascended the Emir throne 45 years ago in 1975 at the age of 36.
Emir Shehu Idris is survived by his wives and many children. As per Muslim rites, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, will be buried later today.
It has been reported that the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad, will be attending Shehu Idris’s burial on September 20, 2020.
