Nigerian singer and BBNaija reality TV star Laycon was featured on the July 1 episode of “Press Play At Home” – a virtual show by the Recording Academy to promote rising artistes.
Speaking about the feat, the 27-year-old singer whose real name is Olamilekan Agbeleshe said the feature was a huge deal that means a lot to him. Laycon also said that his price has gone up following the Grammy feature.
Laycon said during an interview on Channels TV:
“It is a big deal and I am not even going to try and be modest about it or downplay it. That is a very big deal. I have seen reactions and everyone is amazed. It is a result of hard work and the work of my team and label. It is a huge deal. That is where people want to be and I am experiencing this in less than a year. There are bigger things to come, but I appreciate this and I am grateful. It means a lot to me and my price just went up.”
Some fans of the singer have also said they believe the feature means Laycon is already on his way to winning a Grammy Award.
Other artistes including Omah Lay and Yola have also been invited to perform at the Grammy’s “Press Play At Home” show.
