Africa’s richest man Alhaji Aliko Dangote has denied allegations that he is a co-owner of Executive Jets Services Ltd.
Executive Jets Services Ltd is a jet charter services provider whose operating license was recently suspended by the Ministry of Aviation for flouting lockdown laws when it conveyed an artiste to Abuja for a concert.
Executive Jets Services Ltd services used a flight approved to transport a serving judge from Lagos to Abuja and back to fly Nigerian singer Naira Marley and his associates including ex-BBNaija star Kim Oprah to Abuja for a concert that violated all government’s set rules on social gatherings.
Since the news of the suspension of Executive Jets Services Ltd came to light, a lot of media outfits running the story mentioned Alhaji Aliko Dangote as co-owner of Executive Jets Services Ltd.
The Nigerian billionaire has refuted the claims through a statement released by Anthony Chiejina, Group Head, Branding and Corporate Communications, Dangote Group.
The full statement reads:
“Our attention has been drawn to an online publication which alleged that our President/CE, Aliko Dangote is a co-owner of the Executive Jets Services Ltd, a private airline based in Lagos.
We hereby refute this allegation in its entirety, as Aliko Dangote has no stake or vested interest in the Executive Jets Services Ltd.” He further said: “The said aircraft Bombardier Challenger 605 with registration number 5N-EXS does not belong to Aliko Dangote.
Dangote Group only keeps its fleet of aircraft in the hangars operated by Executive Jets Services Ltd just as others also avail themselves of the hangar services. The general public is hereby advised to disregard this unfounded and misleading report.”
