Official Govt websites of Russia and Ukraine down amid ongoing war

Looks like the war between Russia and Ukraine has gone cyber!

Both the official website of Ukraine (president.gov.ua) and Russia’s official Kremlin website (kremlin.ru) are currently down, as of press time.

Reports of the Russian website’s outage emerged shortly after Ukraine’s vice prime minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, said the country will create an “IT army” to fight against Russia’s digital intrusions.

Prior to Fedorov’s statement, researchers at the cybersecurity firm ESET had found that a newly discovered piece of destructive software was circulating in Ukraine and had hit hundreds of computers in the country.

Officials in Ukraine said there is a wave of hacks aimed at the country by Russian military hackers.
