How Ukraine’s young VP is using Twitter to their gain amid war with Russia

Ukraine is using any means available to ward off Russian invasion of their country.

31-year-old Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov who also doubles as the country’s Minister of Digital Transformation is currently using his knowledge of Twitter and social media communication to gain an advantage for his country amid the ongoing war with Russia.

In the afternoon of Saturday, February 26, 2022, Mykhailo Fedorov tweeted to SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk, begging him to use his Starlink service, a satellite-based internet provider that links the entire world with many small satellites, to help internet disruptions the war has caused.

And to this, Elon Musk answered.

Early this morning, Sunday, February 27, 2022, Mykhailo Fedorov tweeted again that he has contacted the CEOs of Viber and PayPal to block their services in Russia.

An hour ago, Mykhailo Fedorov made another tweet, urging all major crypto exchanges to block their service to Russian users.

In a separate tweet, he also called on Visa and Mastercard to discontinue their services in Russia in the meantime.

There are also emerging reports that Twitter has blocked Russian nationals from registering new accounts on the platform.

Fedorov also tweeted that YouTube has ceased the monetization of channels owned by Russian creators.
