Nigerian senate president Ahmed Lawan has joined the 2023 presidential race, DNB Stories Africa reports.
Lawan’s companions have purchased the nomination form for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket at the International Conference Centre in Abuja. It was learned that Lawan’s supporters were led by Chief Sam Nkire, a member of the party’s National Caucus and 15 other senators.
The Senate President has become the 24th candidate to purchase the APC presidential nomination form which reportedly goes for a whopping N100 million.
The APC had planned to hold its primary election on May 30, DNB Stories Africa has learned.
